In China, we concentrate mostly on the northern region for antiques.  In these colder climates trees grow slower and therefore surrender denser, high quality woods.  We also like to buy in the north because the antiques we find there are authentic, not newly mass produced and made to look old.  

In Southeast Asia, we find beautiful teak British Colonial furniture from Myanmar (formerly Burma).  Other interesting items for the home or collector are authentic religious or spiritual object and old Burmese lacquer ware such as food vessels, betel boxes, trays and more.

Clipper Trading Company was founded in 1998 in an old warehouse. But because of our ever expanding Asian collection, in 2003 we moved into our current location in the hearth of the historic district where we offer you a 12,000 sq ft shopping experience.

Most of our collection is made up of one-of-a-kind pieces and we do not have a printed catalog.  We frequently update our site and ask you to consider this website our catalog.
